Minerals Thermal Processing

Some examples of the applications we serve :

Sodium phosphates and sodium silicate

Sodium phosphates powders are mostly used for water treatment, animal food preservation and washing powders. Sodium phosphates are prepared by melting in reverberatory furnaces. The melting tank is lined with z irconium silicate based bricks ( ZPR or CZ66 )

For sodium silicate powders manufacturing, we recommend fused cast AZS materials. For more information visit Saint-Gobain SEFPRO

High purity Alumina powders

They are manufactured by high temperature calcining of alumina salts.
Three kinds of muffle kilns are beeing used : rotary hearth, tunnel or batch kilns. The powders are fired in quartz saggers.
High thermal conductive SiC, Silicate bonded  refractory materials are used:
SiC 50 for the hearth plates and SiC 95 or Carbofrax®A for the muffles with the exception of the batch kilns where MS2Rmullite muffles are preferred.

Alumina monocrystals drawing

One of the main applications of transparent alumina monocrystals is the manufacture of watch-glasses. In order to achieve the high temperature requested for Alumina melting, the torch area is isolated with RI34C , a high purity bubble Alumina based insulating fire brick
